Case Study: Pachama
Pachama is a company with a powerful mission: restore nature to solve climate change.
They use satellite and machine learning technology to make a better carbon market and restore forests worldwide.
At Waipa Studio, we created a series of videos showcasing two forestal projects: Rips Redwoods Improved Forest Management in Northern California and REDD+ Brazil nut concessions in the Peruvian Amazon.
The process
The logistics of shooting abroad can be challenging, and even more during a pandemic. Pachama needed to enhance the imagery from its projects in their marketplace in order to improve sales.
We collaborated with Pachama’s team regarding the type of content to make their projects stand out. We travelled to Northern California to shoot stunning video, photography and drone images. At the Rips Redwood forest, we gathered relevant footage that allowed us to outline a comprehensive visual guideline and create new content for the rest of the projects.
For the project in Peru, we created video guidelines and hired a local team to film under our direction. In the months prior to the shoot, we reviewed portfolios of experienced videographers and photographers that were able to travel to remote locations.
With the help of the project developer, we were able to bring Pachama’s vision to life and create beautiful content remotely.
Edit
We used Adobe Final Cut Pro because is very useful in handling a large amount of footage. After receiving an SSD disk from the videographer with all the raw material, we selected the best testimonials and the most compelling images for our story.
